Whales

Hump back whales start arriving in Vava’u at the end of June or early July from their feeding areas in Antarctica. They spend the austral winter here and give birth, court a new partner and mate in Vava’u’s warm waters, before beginning their migration back to Antarctica at the end of October or early November when the baby whales are strong enough for the journey.

Vava’u is special because it is possible to swim with these magnificent creatures in the islands’ warm and sheltered waters. Vava’u is one of the few places in the world where this dream experience can come true for you. We at C’Scape Adventures are committed to helping you to achieve safely the best possible whale swim experience while having a sympathetic approach to the humpback whales.
